Full Course Title: Career Connected Learning 101, Leadership Foundations for Student Career and Life Readiness
Start date: April 20, 2020 – runs through June 2020 (8-week course)
Cost: $295 per person or receive a 20% discount if 5 or more people from your team register together
Description: This online course is designed to help school and district leaders understand and implement career-connected learning strategies in their school systems to develop career readiness for all students. Specifically, this course will:
- Help K-12 school and district leaders better understand the implications of workforce trends for education
- Learn how to implement the Career and Life Readiness Framework (or their state’s version thereof)
- Meet their state’s performance indicators for Career and Life Readiness
- Strengthen employer and community partnerships to support Career Connected Learning
- Examine strategies and best practices in Career Connected Learning, and
- Increase communication and collaboration between K-12 school and district leaders and career and technical education (CTE) administrators.
Additional information: This course is expected to require 30 hours of coursework, including reading, posting and reviewing comments, participating in two classroom discussion sessions, and conducting the course’s special activities. Most of this is accomplished independently except for a few optional virtual class calls typically held in the evening and scheduled well in advance. Each class week begins on Monday morning and concludes the following Sunday night. The course purchase includes a copy of The Power and Promise of Pathways book by Hans Meeder.
Note: This course does not focus solely on CTE, rather the broader notion of career and life readiness for ALL students.
